CHROME MOLY STEELS
Until the development of today’s modern alloys, Chrome Moly was popularly considered a high strength material. Now viewed as only moderate strength, Chrome Moly steel is seen as a good tough steel, with adequate fatigue properties for common applications like fasteners, nuts, shafts, wind mill bearing races, automotive components etc. Typically, Chrome Moly steels are supplied/used in quench and tempered condition to tensile strengths between 800 to 950 MPa.
